Kayla Chafe completed her education at Sheridan College graduating with a Bachelor Degree in Applied Health Sciences – Athletic Therapy. She is a Certified Athletic Therapist and has been a member of the Progressive Sports Medicine team for the last five years. Along with her clinic work at Progressive Sports Medicine, she provides on field coverage for several sporting teams. She currently works in the as an Athletic Therapist for the Halton District School board and has been the Head Athletic Therapist for the Markham Irish Canadians Rugby Club for the past 2 seasons. Previous, Kayla was the Athletic Therapist for the Burlington Centaurs Rugby Football Club for 3 seasons and remains active in the Rugby community.
As a member of the Ontario Athletic Therapist Association (OATA) and the Canadian Athletic Therapist Association (CATA), Kayla provides her patients with the most up to date manual therapy, exercise prescription, and rehabilitation techniques available. For the betterment of her patients Kayla continues in post graduate studies including Thoracic Spine assessment and manual techniques. She believes in an active approach to treatment, emphasizing the philosophy that movement of any type is key to proper function.
Outside of the clinic, Kayla is active in the local rugby and soccer community. She keeps herself active playing in a Women’s Soccer League.
Passion for the field of Athletic Therapy drives Kayla to improve the lives of her patients and return them to their pre-injured state.
