Dr. Amber Purins completed her undergraduate education at McMaster University where she graduated with an Honours Degree in Kinesiology. While at McMaster, Amber competed as Captain of the Women’s Varsity Rugby team, Women’s Football team, and was an active member is the McMaster Right to Play Chapter. Dr. Purins went on to complete her Doctor of Chiropractic Degree at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and with Clinic Honours.
Dr. Purins enjoys practicing within multi-disciplinary and is a strong advocate for inter-professional collaboration. Dr. Purins has pursued training in several different treatment approaches as an adjunct to her chiropractic training. She is full-body certified in Active Release Technique (ART®) and has been trained in Graston soft tissue therapy, Activator, and Thompson adjustment techniques. Dr. Purins is also an active member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. Dr. Purins treats a variety of conditions and injuries throughout the entire musculoskeletal system. She bases her practice on a patient-centred approach utilizing the most up to date research, treatment options, and patient education to provide the most comprehensive care possible. As an athlete herself, Amber enjoys treating athletes at all levels of the athletic spectrum from leisure to recreational through to elite competitive athletes. Dr. Purins also has a keen interest in women’s health, pregnancy related care, post-partum return to activity, and post-natal development.
Amber is very active in the Hamilton/Burlington community. For the past four years she has been one of the Assistant Coaches of the McMaster Varsity Women’s Rugby team and is currently the Assistant Coach of the U16 Junior Ontario Storm rugby team.
